Nighttime boat photos

Over the last year I've developed a small obsession with night photography and star photos. So I thought I'd share a few of my boat-related night photos.

If anyone else has nautical night pics, please post!

Re: Nighttime boat photos

I like your subject topic and your photos.

Sailing at night is wonderful, especially if one sees the stars and planets.

Unfortunately I do not have any photos to add.

I wished I had a camera on me on a recent long offshore voyage where we entered an area of thunderstorms, as the lightning lit up the sky brilliantly ahead of us. Then the wind and rain from a squall hit (about 30 knots) and I was busy at the helm.

Paul, did you try to get the moon framed in this shot? It would've looked nice up there, glowing, next to that sail.

Re: Nighttime boat photos

When I posted that seawall shot I became aware for the first time that you can see the Prefectura dog on the Prefectura cutter.....
He could quite happily and un-assisted trot up ( relatively easy ) and down ( not very easy at all ) that ladder...

Maybe in a previous life he had been a fire brigade rescue dog...
