Next Volvo Ocean Race?

Hi All,

It looks to me like there are only five teams announced for this next Volvo Ocean Race, set to begin in Oct of this year... and Puma is not one of them ;(
Does anybody know how many teams that they felt that they needed? I thought that I had heard that with the new cheaper one design package that they were expecting between 10-12 teams.
It seems to me to be getting down to the wire in terms of setting up everything that's needed for a race like that between the crew and the logistics... I guess unless already formed teams are still yet to announce.
Anyways, I was planning my route for next summer based partly on catching parts of that... Anybody have any better ideas of if this race will be as big and worth while as it has been in the past? Thanks!

Nah.. Just slow sometimes and posts get buried fast...

I was hearing that they wanted 10ish... and were disappointed so far.... BUT... the point to the boats is they are first gen, all identical, less rule interpretation... and their thought was that teams can and will join very late before the start...
