Meta data? I called that the tags, name, album, album artist, etc, all those categories you or someone else mentioned...
Stu, I wonder how MediaHuman can extract a YouTube video's audio track without playing the video? Doesn't that take the full length of time?

Meta data (tags) yes, that's what they are. Does MediaHuman fill in these tags?

Finally, can you use it to play and extract a whole album as it was recorded by the artist?

The starmate 8, NOT XM, can receive through most of the eastern Caribbean. It’s not supposed to but it works. Just bought one.

1. I'm far from an IT specialist, although my wife thinks I am because I figured out Windows eons ago and it drives her crazy when I ask "which of the three ways it can do it do you want me to show you?" I am no expert of MH nor how it works. But I can tell you that just like my earlier thing that was called iVideoConverter, it can download EITHER video OR audio files, your choice. I would venture to say almost ANY converter will do so. My experience level is with only these two of them, but who wouldn't guess all of them would?

Time: do I need to repeat myself? NO. It does not take as long as the track. Please, ask them if you want to know the voodoo beneath the hood. All I can say is it ain't like recording with a cassette. WAIT: it doesn't take iTunes the length of a CD to rip the entire contents now, does it? Bloody MAGIC!

2. Yes, whatever comes with the YouTube content.

3. Yes, whatever comes with the YouTube content. Some folks upload single tracks to YT, some upload entire albums. You download what you want. I thought that would be obvious, although I'm no YT fanatic, in fact I dislike it for all the useless wasted time on HowTo videos made by idiots, who for example show you how to do stuff while their hands are in the way!
You go to YouTube for the artist, and there may be all sorts of different offerings - singles, whole albums, live recordings usually with rotten sound, sometimes one-off stuff you'd never find anywhere else (David Letterman with Emmylou, Dolly and Linda - marvelous) and so on.

Look, I don't have any vested interest in MH, it's probably one of hundreds of free converters - find it using Google. Why not give it a try? I ain't any expert on it, but it works, and I'm a Luddite when it comes to this stuff - I had to make up my own cheat sheet so I could remember how to do it - I use it once every few months when I find a gaggle of stuff I get interested in.

Good luck, happy tunes to you.

Re: Music

Just make sure you have a copy of Queen’s “We are the Champions” handy for when you cross the finishing line in first place!

We usually avoid that kind of display (its good sportsmanship and looks more professional to remain calm, but hard to do sometimes) and in any case it is not always obvious who won the race right as we finish, calculations are needed.

However we do have a fight song (it isn't Queen) and sometimes play it after a race, more often when leaving the dock.

For 10 years it was Psycho Killer by Talking Heads
Then Banquet by Bloc Party
Now, the universally hated, Blah Blah Blah by Armin van Buuren

If you are going to play a fight song you need a powerful amplifier and good speakers.

Re: Music

I decided to try YouTube premium this year. It includes YouTube music, which is OK. You can download any music to play offline line. You can allow it to download suggested music which i like when I want to hear new stuff. The downloads don't expire but require an internet connection every 30 days to refresh the license. You can add also download YouTube videos and movies for offline. The selection of music is kind of thin. They seem to have only one or two of the most popular albums from most artists.

Even though I have a stereo system, I rarely use it. I have a decent portable Bluetooth speaker that I use for music, audio books from the library, or as speakers for watching videos or movies. Now that phones have hundreds of GB, I no longer carry other media storage.

Re: Music

I often plug my phone to my stereo using AUX cable.
For music I mostly use Radio Garden, a website or app where you can travel the World and rotate the globe to any country, then select a radio station to play any kind of music you like.
