Looking for sailors near Panama City

Hi everyone. Looking for people interested in helping me learn to sail in Panama City, Florida. Would prefer something free but I can compensate you for your time if necessary. I have a ketch rigged 30' boat. It is ready to go. Thank you

Where do you keep it? There are a couple of people in the City Marina I can think of that would help.
I've been on the line on classes myself and will eventually find someone to teach us on our boat, there has to be a lot of little tricks that I don't know, but so far it seems the sailing part is not really that hard, and if you have big boat experience, the docking, anchoring thing is pretty similar.
When I get my boat back in the water is a week or two from her getting her bottom job, I'll gladly take you out, but as I'm learning too, I'm not the person to teach you on your boat, be the blind leading the blind you know. I don't mind making mistakes on mu boat and since my Son has moved out I need a sailing partner, if you don't know what your doing, single hand docking a 38" full keel in nice sailing winds can be a little intimadating.

I am not saying sailing is easy, just most of it is logical, seems what makes sense, is usually the correct thing to do.

There are several people that will take your money, and I've been watching for the last several months, seems there are one or two people around that have far better boat handling skills than the ones that take money to teach

I'm just up the road in Destin, but while I'm very capable crew, wouldn't want to put myself forward as a teacher.

If you're looking for a hand on a particular date, PM me and if I'm available I'd love to go out on either of your boats.

Have you ever been to Naples? I guess this could've been 8 threads.. I am looking for someone who'd be willing to impart some wisdom. I called the harbor master ahead and he warned me of shoaling at Government Cut and to stay to the west side when entering from the Gulf. Since then I have found a few shallow spots (luckily in my dinghy) near where I am anchored. They were not marked on brand new charts. Is this common? Who else can I contact besides the harbor master?
