I will soon own a
boat in Green Turtle Cay
Bahamas and for the next 3 winters will go to it for a few weeks each winter and then be living on it from Nov to May each year. I plan on doing a lot of
fishing primarily from a
dinghy that comes with the
boat and will
fishing the flats,
reefs and shallow areas but no deep sea fishing. So primarily lighter tackle and for smaller
fish that can be eaten or catch and release. I have fished the
great lakes a lot and have some tackle but need to know what I will need for this
salt water fishing such as lures, line, weights, reels, rods etc. I prefer to cast or troll although I read that they do a lot of bottom fishing around
reefs. I will stock up over the years and take it down when I go each winter but will need some basics for my first trip this winter (Feb 1015). I was thinking that I would get a spinning reel and rod and also a trolling reel and rod and have 12 lb and 20 lb line. I am assuming I will need leaders and weights and lures but have no ideas what they use there. Not looking to catch any large
game fish. I would also like to know what if anything I can take with me for catching spiny lobster.
Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
