BEWARE, along the AICW in Chesapeake, VA. Because someone wanted in the lock first and sent his police friend I was cited for a wake disturbance in my sailboat! Later a bridge operator asked over the VHF: "Are you the sailboat that went through the lock?" I will avoid the area in the future.

Re: Chesapeake, VA

This doesn't sound like fun recreation entertainment or fun.

I don't follow your post - what happened? You passed another boat or exited before another boat or..?

Re: Chesapeake, VA

Need more info. Did you go into the lock without being told to?
They have an order to things and don't like it changed.

Re: Chesapeake, VA

After 15 minutes...I'm sure the world stopped caring.

No need to avoid the area...tens of thousands of boats pass without issue every year.

Probability of a future issue is tiny.
