Tampa Area Marinas

I am maybe looking at purchasing a sailboat (37') in the Tampa area. I could truck it back here to Long Island, or leave her there for a year or two.
Does it make financial sense? where could I leave her at a mooring - I certainly do prefer that to a slip -
How much would that cost? Does everyone puts the boat ashore during hurricane season? Isn't it more risks if the mast stays up?
Thanks!
