SC Marinas

Hello: Just joined forum in search of help, please forgive any mistakes. I am in market for 40 ft-ish monohull, I have located potential boats but have no where to keep it. I have been searching marina options in SC but all so far are full with substantial waiting list. So, my question is two part: does anyone have any information on coastal slip availability; and in terms so-to-speak referring to the chicken and the egg dilema - what comes first the boat or a place to put it? I sure appreciate any feedback from experienced members. Thank you.

Is there a possibility that NC around Beaufort or New Bern could be a choice? I think marinas might be more plentiful.

You'll need to find at least a temporary slip for the boat prior to purchase, whether your SC is Southern California or South Carolina, or some other SC.
