I know sailors who have hauled out there to do work and heard good things second hand.

Sailcraft is no longer owned by Alan and the crew have moved on. I agree Oriental NC is a great area.

We stayed at New Been Grand Marina for 18 months and loved it there. We weathered a direct hit from Hurricane Florence there. They have since installed a new concrete attenuating seawall. Should be bulletproof. The dockmaster is a great guy - retired USCG Master Chief and he runs a tight but friendly operation. Everything in New Bern is in walking distance, except grocery but they deliver. We hauled out at Bock Marine, in Core Creek and that is a fabulous boatyard.
