Lake Macatawa marinas

I am moving our boat from one un-reasonable maina to another one this weekend. As I understsnd the marina business here they all are difficult. If Walmart opperated the same way as the marinas do around here Kmart would be #1! What is customer service in the marine business anyway? I think it is "boat owner bend over and enjoy it!"

anchor out

Thats why I anchored out and used the Kollen Park boat launch to launch my dinghy to get to my boat. $25/year. Just make sure you have the anchors to handle the worst conditions. A dusk to dawn anchor light switch makes you legal with the Coasties.

How deep is it there? I'm tempted to leave it at anchor but I have a lot to do to prepare for living aboard.

Lake Mac depth

You can find an area with 10 feet depth. The key is to stay away from the channel, the freighters move through regularly. You wouldn't want to be swinging out over the channel when that happened.

It is a little inconvenient on the hook, but if you had a 14 aluminum fishing boat, you can load lots of stuff on it.

There is also the bay to the north of this location, which is actually a little nicer. If you have a motor, you can get there very quick. I had a rowboat so I wanted to stay close to Kollens Park.
