A live-a-board situation is generally tough at the get-go. However, at many I'mmarinas slip holders can sub-let their slips for various periods including up to six months and even beyond when traveling. Might check with the marinas
to find out if there are any posted. Here at my marina availabilities are not published; only posted locally. You might also post a "sub-let sought" at where you wish to go.
However, LAB might require sub-letting a "live-a-board slip" that is normally so occupied. The rate is negotiable between you and the slip holder. It typically cannot be higher than the established marina rate although it might be lower. Folks that are traveling, planning to, or have their boat at a remote
location with an empty slip at home might go to half-rate to recover some of the cost.
