Welcome suggestions for several day stop in Fort Lauderdale FL, in mid-May, before heading north. Sailboat is 46 feet, 6'3 draft and 72 foot mast. thanks!!

I am biased because I left Lauderdale to live in Coconut Grove.

Pier 66 just inside the first bridge. $150 a night but nice place.......
I'd go anywhere else., anywhere!

Ha. No. That’s an excellent price for one night on Fort Lauderdale. You can always anchor just north or the los olas marina but you won’t have access to a dock.

Los olas has a few moorings but it’s real tight... I don’t know why boats don’t hit each other.

If you are in Fort Lauderdale short time it’s best to bite the bullet and pay for the marina at los olas.

Pier 66 Marina
Don’t know about cost as i was crew
and that is where we left from,
but very very nice. Home to many Megayachts.
Great swimming pool.

No, looked hard and that was the only place with an opening. Even the fuel dock across the bay charged by the hour....! Would have been a couple hundred $ for the night. Really a rip.
There are some public area up the river into town. You might try those. They were full when I was looking.

If you get lucky and there is one available, the moorings south of las olas are ideal. Definitely worth a shot. There are a few places to anchor but no real dinghy access.

thanks - there are three city marinas - range in price from 1.40/ft to 2.18 - apparently can't reserve moorings - so pretty risky NOT to reserve a slip....

that sounds great - but if the field is full - don't want to get "stuck" at a slip that is 3-10/ foot. I think the city options look the best - we'd be happy to spend a few days south of fort Lauderdale - or even north while we provision and then head to a slip in ft Lauderdale to pick up crew.
