Dive Compressor ?

I'm thinking of buying one of those mini scuba kits to take on the boat, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a 12v or small 240v compressors , if 240v i need it to run off a honda eu20i 1.6kw.

Any suggestions?

cheers.

Re: dive compressor??

Are you talking about a hooka type of setup, or a permanently installed compressor to fill tanks? If it is a hooka, then just go cruising to find one - the marina bulletin boards and morning nets are full of unused ones that people want to get rid of at a good price. In fact, I don't know anyone with one who wants to keep it.

Re: dive compressor??

If your thinking about the "mini b" kit I would suggest getting a regular BCD and reg set and a small tank. Probably work out cheaper and you can hire larger tanks if/when you want to do some sport diving.

I think you''l struggle finding a compressor that will run off a 1.6kw genset, about 2 kw is the smallest.
You can get petrol driven compressors that are fairly compact.

If you want a scuba kit just for boat use i.e scrubbing the hull, anchor inspection then have a look at the various hookah set ups but they're not the cheapest.

Re: Dive Compressor ?

Good luck finding a 240v electric hookah. But there are plenty of battery-powered options:
