Desperate Search For Cheap Moorings/boat Storage Between Florida And Annapolis

Hello CF'ers, I need to return home to look after my ill Mother. Im looking to place my boat on the hard long term, but a cheap mooring will do in the mean time. Any inexpensive places you can recommend between St Augustine, Fla to Annapolis would be much appreciated.
thank you so much!

Green Cove Springs marina on the St Johns River for pretty cheap on the hard storage. Very limited in the water but they sometimes have a mooring available.

Brunswick Landing Marina in Brunswick GA. Nothing on the hard but reasonable rates at the marina.

Probably helps in getting useful answers if you define "inexpensive" for you.

I second Green Cove Springs for very inexpensive mooring and/or hard storage.

Green Cove Springs Marina - The Cruiser's Homeport

There are a few moorings available right now depending on your draft.

St. Marys Boat Services in St. Marys, Georgia has on the hard storage.

Welcome

I agree that Green Cove is a good option because it is reasonable and far enough south that you won't have to worry about freezing issues as you will the further north you get.

Flag Harbor mid way up the Chesapeake has reasonable storage (for the area) for boats on the hard.

Flag Harbor Yacht Haven - on the Bay in Calvert County

St.Augustine Marine Center on the San Sebastian river in St.Augustine Fl. has excellent rates and has a secured yard. give them a call 904 824 4394. I've been using them for over 4 years and quite happy knowing my boat is safe there.

One of the least expensive is inland on the ICW near Lake Okeechobee.

Indiantown Marina - Home

Very safe for hurricane season as a bonus.

Here is their rate sheet.

Indiantown is an excellent option and a really good deal.

One thing that has not been mentioned that might be an issue for the OP, almost all of the options mentioned are 40-50 miles or more from an airport. If he will be flying in and out it might be tricky or expensive to get between the yard and the airport.

The best options I see in the southern options; Delta has connections from Brunswick GA and St Mary's GA is about 30 miles from JAX.

Check out Home Page. In Eastern Shore of North Carolina in Pamlico County on Vandemere Creek just off the Bay River. 3 miles to the ICW. Protected location, floating dock, water and electric, deep water, slips to 60 feet. Call the owner who is ready to make a deal.

Deltavilla marina and boatyard on the Rapahannock river in Va. is very reasonable, great people and very secure for long term storage. Its in the Chesapeake bay half way to Annapolis.

Re: Desperate Search For Cheap Moorings/boat Storage Between Florida And Annapolis

Immediately to the south of St Mary's inlet at Florida's northern edge is Tiger Point Marina. No moorings or slips are usually available but dry storage rates are very reasonable. 50 ton lift. Good guys to deal with.
