Best Fuel and Water Stop In Puerto Rico/East Caribbean

We have just discovered the new Marina of Puerto Real, Marina Pescaderia, which must be the best fuel and water stop in Puerto Rico, indeed whole of east Caribbean. It has a long and easily approached fuel dock, good staff. Diesel price $4 and Water 5cents/ Gallon. Even big name two stroke oil is only $20 Gallon. Facilities are above standard. Modern bar and restaurant with fantastic service.
AND the cheapest laundry we have found in the whole of the eastern caribbean.
The approach showed on our new chartplotter as 6 feet - Wrong - it is double that, and well marked. We have anchored in front of the marina, and there is plenty of room to do so. And easy access to Mayaguez to check in- the Marina can organise a driver - ours was $30 round trip with some shopping stops included.
We stumbled on this gem through word of a local [thanks Marc, Wings], and I had some trepidations, but boy is this so easy. Miles better than Salinas's sorry fuel dock, and much better than jerry jugging at Boqueron et al. I am totally sold, the word needs to get out on this one, especially for those coming from or going to the Dominican Republic.

Re: Best Fuel and Water Stop In Puerto Rico/East Caribbean

That's not the only problem at Marina de Salinas. It's not a friendly place for cruisers anymore. And, the Playa Marine store moved out of town so far you'd have to rent a car ($55 per day) to get to it. Then you won't find much.

We need more warnings about problems at harbors and marinas instead of the positive-only comments most people share.
