Baltimore / Annapolis Area

We are in that area now for the season having to do lots of repairs and taking the boat out for a few weeks as well.

Who knows this area and can recommend a harbour for such activities ?
Annapolis scared me with their pricing especially now the USD is 25% more expensive for us Europeans

A 30 tons lift will do as i have to take the mast out anyhowe for repairs.......

You might try the Eastern Shore where rates tend to be much lower than Annapolis.
My marina in Rock Hall's harbor, The Sailing Emporium, has a new 35T Travellift and allows DIY work as well as a competent staff.
It's a scenic, restful area with a WM close by and a trolley to get you around.

Old Bay Marina in Sparrows Point has a 30T travel lift and is very reasonable. They let you do all your own work or bring in your own contractors.

The harbor of Rock Hall has a few marinas, the ones you mentioned, and The Sailing Emporium.

Also, there are several marinas in Swan Creek on the north side of Rock Hall.

Oak Harbor is a DIY yard and also have a great staff. Have my bottom paint done there. Prices are reasonable and they do a good job. There is also a Mechanic there that has his own shop at the marina. He's pricey but very good and works fast.

You could also look into marinas off of the West River like Hartge's, or maybe Ferry Point Marina just north of Annapolis on the south side of the Magothy River. If you want to keep heading north there's a few marinas off of the Bodkin River, lots in the Middle River area and then you have bunches on the Eastern Shore.

Bodkin, Rock Creek or Middle River. Stoney Creek not so much. Old Bay Marina is a great place, just don't catch the owner when he's having a bad day. He can be frightening...

Brian is a pretty nice guy.......If you had to deal with some of the chuckleheads at marinas on a daily basis....you might have a bad day now and then.

It does have one of the best views of the Bay...you can see the Bay Bridge from there.

Stay away from anyplace inside the Key Bridge.
