Re: Kudos to Our New CF Moderators

I've been here since the beginning. The new class is as good as any. They will take some seasoning but they come with the right stuff. CF grows and changes as time goes on. We need some new people. We are not just a small forum any more and we really want to keep some of the great things that got us here and never forget.

CF always was low maintenance and it pretty much still is. We just have to work harder. The membership is so much larger that the tiny small fraction of problems is now huge compared to what it was. The reason people come back has never changed. Most members know why. I'm absolutely sure the new moderators share that desire.

We added a few time zones just so you don't forget. We want to be global because it's where people sail in boats - just because they can. We still hope to do more and we hope you do to. Talk about it and share it here! We really do have members everywhere.

I've heard of getting your post count up; but getting your moderator count up? I think I counted 673. Did I miss anybody?

Welcome aboard, new moderators.
I didn't know Cuban rum was controversial. I love Cuban rum (but just try getting it).

Re: Kudos to Our New CF Moderators

By the way ... it is nice to be welcomed but the reason I took the job is that the moderators of past and present have done such a great job helping make this forum what it is that I wanted to give something back. So thanks to all that have done the job and to those who continue to. Some of the them have made and make an enormous sacrifice to help make this place tick.

Re: Kudos to Our New CF Moderators

If you shot your Rocna with your gun and the bullet bounced off and killed a Somali pirate who swore that a ketch sailed better than a sloop.........would that be an infraction??

Congrats/thank you to the new group of mods. To those that have never done this before, it's a big, usually thankless job.

Re: Kudos to Our New CF Moderators

Congratulations and thanks to all of you for taking on this important but unrewarding task. You have all earned the respect and gratitude of all of us haywire posters who tend to get carried away with our own personal/political/occaisionally rude postings... I breathlessly await your censure... cheers, Capt Phil

It's true. I have to walk to the liquor store...that's got to be two blocks, and then they only have six brands.

Here in the Workers' Paradise of Soviet Canuckistan, that is.

Now, is my humidor stuffed with Cohibas? Exxxxxcellente!
