Using a symbol (that resembles a letter) in name board

I'm in the process of designing a name board and would like to incorporate the nautilus in place of a capital "O" on the name board (see image attached). The boat will be documented, so the Coast Guard rules apply, how do you think it would look to them? Has anyone done this before?

Alternatively, I could just use the regular letters for the name and bookend it with the nautilus design.

Your thoughts?

Re-read the documentation requirements, as the rules can be quite picky about heighth of letters, use of letters, etc.

I like it, the rules don't. I'd probably just do it anyway, the intention is clear, but...

Quote:
The name and hailing port of a recreational vessel must be marked together on some clearly visible exterior part of the hull. ... All markings may be made by any means and materials that result in durable markings and must be at least four inches in height, made in clearly legible letters of the Latin alphabet or Arabic or Roman numerals. The "hailing port" must include both a place and a State, Territory, or possession of in the United States. The state may be abbreviated.

I like it. Wouldn't work on a sloop, of course, but since Soveraine is a ketch....
