Actually, Spam (the canned kind) is the source of the term Spam (the e-mail or phone
kind.) It's from the Monty Python "Vikings" skit where the Vikings incessantly chant "Spam Spam Spam Spam." It was repetitive and annoying, just like the e-mails, so the name stuck.
Some people don't realize this and think it's an acronym. Nope. You can use mixed case, no need to do all-caps.
As for canned Spam, it never seems to get much use when I'm cruising. Sure, I bring some. I do love it for breakfast, fried up on a cast iron skillet on the grill
, but most mornings I go for something easier.
As for coming from this forum, no. That must have been a coincidence. I have one clever Spam e-mail sender who always makes it around my filters. I used to get two every day. Now it's suddenly up to six or eight. Perhaps you got on their list somehow. I did finally figure out a way to filter theirs, and so far it's about 90% effective.
