Private moorings for sale, USVI/BVI

I am looking for information in regards to private moorings for sale in the USVI/BVI. Is anyone aware of a website or how to go about getting more information. My web searches are not finding much. Thanks

According to DPNR regulations in the USVI, moorings can't be sold. In actuality, the rules aren't enforced and moorings wanted or for sale, can be seen on Craigslist. That's where I'd start my search with a posting. There are an awful lot of boats using anchor(s) rather than a mooring. What is it you specifically wish to do?

I've no firsthand knowledge of how such things are handled in the BVI.

We have lease seabed for three moorings in the BVI. You need to apply to the ministry of natural resources in the BVI listing the specifics and, usually, either own a business or property there in order to get one. Be prepared for a long and drawn out application process. Although we do not have a USVI mooring I do know from friends that locals in STT/STJ/STX can be very territorial about their seabed, especially seabed they consider "family property"; while technically you could lease your mooring almost anywhere, be prepared for it to go missing on a regular basis if you are new to the territory.

Well, if that's the case. Any info on areas open for installing a new mooring in the USVI/BVI? Are certain areas off limits/full? I'm in the research phase at the moment and trying to get as much info as possible on all options for a liveaboard.
