Re: Florida without a holding tank

And now for something completely different... You have a wonderful sailboat to liveaboard. Aside from regulations I am drawn to ask about the present setup for waste treatment before discharge?
Do you have a macerator work the solids prior?
The oceans are able to deal with the discharge but in a pristine anchorage I think I’d be somewhat unhappy knowing I was snorkeling in your discharge!
My suggestion differs from the others and I would suggest rather than a portapoti that you might look at the composting heads available as a refit.
My forward head is an Airhead and I love it. My aft head has a holding tank and macerator.
Good luck with your sailing adventures.

Re: Florida without a holding tank

If you swing by a Walmart or other Sporting Goods store you can grab some of these:

These can even be thrown away in a normal trash can. Easy solution for middle of the night needs.

Re: Florida without a holding tank

I would search your conscience and common sense. Not having a holding tank poses potentially serious consequences to environment and humans if in close proximity to shore. I have been snorkeling in islands and watched the brown surge exit a hull. Total disregard for the earth and mankind. Go out three miles and drain tanks.
