Re: Documents required to deliver boat to bahamas

mikogold,

You will want to give your captain a "Letter of Authority" simular to this.

To whom it may concern:
Please accept this letter as authority for Captain ______ and crew to collect my yacht: model and name with Hull ID# _______
From ______ and deliver it to me at _______ on or around this Date

Cordially,
Owners Name or names

Mark

mikogold,

A "Letter of Authority" does not need to be notarized.

This is just to cover the captain in case he gets stopped by the authorities and to show he did not steal the yacht.

May not need it, but covers all your bases.

Best that he has his passport, Letter of Authority and should be prepared to show his professional license as well. I was asked for all of these including ships papers and proof of insurance several times on deliveries in to Mexican ports. Not certain if these would suffice in the Bahamas but would assume they would. Capt Phil

If he does not have it he's in the nick.... slammer... gaol... local gay house.... he's stuffed... another boat thief busted...
Type/print one out... sign it then photocopy and e-mail him one....sure the local internet cafe could manage that..
Also recommend he carries a copy of the insurance...
