I need to delete a vessel from US
documentation and the instructions the coast guard gives for this are confusing (

Is there anybody who has been through this process and can answer the following questions:
(1) Can I do this in person? If so, where?
(2) Where is the "fillable form"? On the NVDC web page I could find no form for deletion of
documentation.
(3) What documents do I need? So far, my best best guess is:
- the existing two-sided certificate of documentation
- a copy of the bill of
sale (one page)
- a "letter" requesting deletion and/or a form (??? what form ???)
(4) What is the fee for process? Is it $15 for the request plus an $8 fee for filing the bill of
sale, for a total of $23 or is that wrong?
(5) I need a
certification of deletion from the coast guard, if I do this in person will they hand it to me afterwards, or will I have to wait for it to be mailed to me? What do I do if I never get it?
