Crossing the border: France to Italy

Hello all,

Would appreciate some guidance on the following situation:
  • We have just picked up our new boat, and currently have a copy (not original) of a provisional registration in Jersey.
  • We are currently in France, where the boat was built, and plan to cross the border to Italy in a week or so.
  • We do not have the vessel's official Tonnage Plate or full registration document - this looks likely to need a further couple of weeks to arrive.

We are unsure whether we should attempt to cross to Italy without the full set of documents in place, or whether the provisional registration will suffice - it is valid until November.

Many thanks.
