Re: Crossbow on Boat?

Hello MJS1

Curiosity compels me to ask - What on earth could have prompted you to revive a thread more than six years old, and concerned with the carriage of weapons aboard your boat?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to know, particularly since I see no posts by you during these six years gone concerned with substantive matters of cruising and sailing..

This is the answer to ALL of these "is it legal?" type of questions.

It just amazes me that in this day and age there are still people who seem to think they can get one answer to a question like this, which will apply in every country around the world.

Even within the United States, the definition of a "weapon" varies from state to state, and in some cases even from city to city. There is never just ONE answer to this kind of question. It ALWAYS depends on specifically where you are talking about.

A weapon is a weapon? One can kill a man a dozed different ways with a pencil. You might want to educate yourself a bit before making blanket statements.

Re: Crossbow on Boat?

Might be useful to mount it on a stanchion and say its a harpoon type device for firing off a mooring line (when no other hulls are in view) when short handed
