Hi folks,
I want to upgrade my standing rig in a couple of years when its more affordable for me. And for the past 6 years my
insurance Co has allowed me to insure the vessel for all except the standing rig (age unknown). However, now they insist that I assess and insure the standing rig due to the age of the vessel (30 y.o.).
I would prefer to continue to sail in light winds and take the risk with the rig until 2025.
I understand, that in an ideal world I should fork out the A$7-10K and replace the rig now as a precaution. But I'd rather wait.
Is anyone aware of an insurer that will allow me to insure the vessel in this way?
