Accuire Documentation number for Vessel no longer owned?

A crewman on a vessel I no longer own has asked me to document the time spent on my sailboat, as part of her application for a 100ton USCG license.

The form that I will be submitting requests the vessel documentation number that I do not have. Anyone know how I can get the documentation number for a vessel no longer owned? Thanks

The documentation number stays the same for the life of the vessel. It will be the same as the number when you owned it.

If that doesn't work, call or email the USCG Documentation Center, provide them with your information, the vessel name when you owned it and the dates you owned it...

They will give you the USCG Registration NUmber or for a fee will provide you a certified copy of your old Documentation Certificate or a official document showing you owned the vessel during that time, including the vessels full description

That search engine sux. I typed in my vessel name and it said no record found. I then moved to the documentation number search, stuck in the number, and my boat appeared, with the name registered that it had just said didn't exist.

But, it did give all previous owners info as well as present and past name when run by document number.

Hyphenated names, Names with number combinations or names with more than one word will screw it up sometimes... Hey it isn't perfect, but it is free :-)

Coast Guard Vessel Search

Try this web site. It pulled up my boat by name and about 20 other documented vessels with the same name that the other search engine missed.
