Yanmar transmission

Trying to figure out what type of fluid to put in the forward and reverse gear case of my yanmar 2gm20f engine. Thanks for any help!

Re: Yanmar transmission

Probably 30W engine oil for the 2gm. Yanmar presents confusing and contradictory information about my 3gm30f.

Re: Yanmar transmission

The service manual specifies SAE 23/30 oil. I use straight 30 weight synthetic in mine. Here is a link to the PDF service manual.

Also there is a placard riveted to the starboard side of the trans with model, specs, lube, etc.

So do you mix 3 parts 30w and 7 parts 20w to get SAE23?
