Yanmar Parts in Texas

I have had difficulty finding a Yanmar parts dealer in Texas/or who will ship to Texas. I understand that Yanmar is very protective of their dealers and respect that. There are several companies that will gladly ship Yanmar parts to you if you live in the midwest or northeast US.

I have been to the Yanmar website and called the local (Austin area) dealers and while they work on the engines, they didn't sound eager to sell the parts. Our boat has a Yanmar 2GM which we have been happy with but local parts availability has been tough.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bluewater was a Yanmar dealer, and has closed up. Blackburn Marine has moved in, and open to the public (they were previously wholesale only). Not sure if they are a Yanmar dealer, but guessing they are. Hope this helps Blackburn Marine Supply - Clear Lake Texas Business Directory Yellow Pages on Clear Lake Today

Try Y.E.S.

I beleive Yacht Equipment Service in Kemah picked up the Yanmar line when Bluewater went under.

Gulf Coast Composites in Kemah sells Yanmar and I am sure will ship to Austin (if not, PM me and I can get them to you). I have dealt with them several times and found them very good to work with: Home

They stock most all common parts and can special order anything.

I very much appreciate the offer. Yacht Equipment Services said they would be happy to send me the parts via UPS. We have some very helpful posters on this board. Thank you guys.

Yanmar parts

Yacht Equipment & Gulf Coast Composites are both excellent dealers and are both more than happy to ship Yanmar parts within the state of Texas. I would be delighted to help with any Yanmar related parts issues in the future.

Also, just in case you need in the future, Torrensen ships to Texas - if I order on Monday, I usually have by Thursday.

Well... me and my big mouth. I'd forgotten that it seems that a few years ago I got approval from Yanmar to buy from Torreson. It also seems that SOMEONE saw my post above - and NOW I can't order from them anymore.

So, a little bit ago, I placed my order with Laborde - and now I read this and it seems likely that Laborde ratted me out?

SO, IF YOU WORK FOR LABORDE I'M CANCELLING MY ORDER. I'll order it delivered elsewhere, and pay someone to ship it to me.

I've been discussing this very situation with the folks at Yanmar. Along with a LOT of other people, I very much resent being told who I have to buy from! This IS the reason so many folks don't repower with Yanmar. They protect territories, which keeps bad dealers from having to compete with businesses that actually do a good job. Therefore, there's no incentive to perform - when you are the only game in town, there's no incentive to treat customers right. And this is WRONG. I buy from folks I WANT to buy from, not from someone I HAVE to buy from.

I'm starting another thread on this, and I'm going to email the discussion link to the folks at Yanmar. This isn't right...

In any case, I'm going to start another thread
