Window Glass UV Blocking Films

Has anyone used films for blocking UV in larger glass windows and if so what kind and how did they work? We have a pilothouse that we want to try to keep cool and want to explore all options. We were considering Textilene covers but if we can get the UV blocking without going that direction that would also be nice.
I saw the thread on films for plastic windows but ours are glass and there seems to be a million on the market.

Put window dark tint on our glass cabin windows to keep the heat down in the cabin. This worked great. Got the film at a local automotive supply store. Directions call for spraying a water and soap solution on the window (inside) and film and apply film on the window. Position then squegee the water out (sponge works well). You have to work any bubbles out from the center towards the outside ends. After about a year the film started to shrink a little at the edges but not bad. To remove you scrape with a razor blade and wash window off. Do not use harsh cleaners and only soft cotton cloth to clean otherwise it will get scuffed up and optics will be deteriorated. Try a small piece first to get the hang of putting it on.

The cat I work on has windows covered with a completely 'invisible' plastic film that does the job very well.

Still, the UV blocked, things under get hot because of the non UV wavelengths. From the outside the windows shine silverish (the film is inside). 6 yrs into service no maintenance issues.
