The yacht may well be fast , well constructed but in the "looks" department I find it pretty ordinary. (But then I don't find modern production yachts very appealing anyway)

Funny... because that is in fact a modern yacht built in 1998, a "Modern Classic / Spirit of Tradition" design, with a Deep Draft Fin Keel and Spade Rudder (Draft: 11′ / 3.35m)

Nor is she a Sparkman & Stephens design either, she was built at Brooklin Boat Yard to a design by Joel White

Although the owner Donald Tofias does in fact now own S & S.

Too true - although in both cases somehow it's possible to end up on the rocks anyway if you are not careful...

Re: Who's you favorite yacht architect?

Since nobody has mentioned him, I'll add James Wharram to the list, one of the pioneers of offshore cruising multihull design

That is certainly no modern yacht built in 1998!

One look at it and you can tell it is S&S!

Are you sure? Because I am certain.

Did you even click the link that I posted? I guess not. I even posted a photo of the underwater sections of that EXACT yacht

Not to mention that I used to personally know the boat, her sistership White Wings, and the owner Mr Tofias.

But you can easily verify the information yourself. There are dozens of links about these boats online.

Here is one, from the builder:
WILD HORSES | | Brooklin Boat Yard

And:
https://www.soundingsonline.com/features/living-a-dream

Quote:
In 1996, as he was winding down his real estate business, he founded the W-Class Yacht Company, which offers a series of one-design spirit of tradition racing sloops.
Quote:
“The original boats designed by Joel White, the 76s, were a kind of a synthesis of some of the late 12-Meters and the Herreshoff designed-and-built New York 50, which was 50 feet on the waterline,” Tofias said. “If you took a cross between, say, Intrepid and the New York 50 Spartan, that was a Joel White inspiration after knowing what I was looking for, which was a racer/cruiser that was part of the big boat class. But we wanted more emphasis on racing than cruising.”
Quote:
The first two W-76 yachts were Wild Horses and White Wings, built in 1998 by Maine boatbuilders Brooklin Boat Yard and Rockport Marine respectively, with cold-molded wood construction and carbon-fiber rigging. They have been frequent match-racing partners ever since.

Carl Alberg. For his "sea kindly" design philosophy. Our Alberg designed 1966 Odyssey 30 upon which we still live.

Re: Who's you favorite yacht architect?

Tim Jackett’s designs of Tartan Yachts hit a sweet spot of form and function across a large range of boat size.
