I would really appreciate any thots on what type / series of 300 stainlees
steel (304, 316, etc.) would be the best choice to replace a solid
rudder post? (
Pomaika'i HAS to have a new
rudder... too many tens of thousands of miles under her
keel - on a
boat that displaces 54,000 lbs.)
After having done a little reading, the technical and metallurgical stuff about
corrosion stress fractures, etc. has gotten me more than a little confused.
Any education or
advice from you guys will be great.
Thanks,
John K.
