What to use to rebed windlass?

Removed my windlass for overhaul. Need to reseal it at the deck. Looks like it was originally sealed with 4200 or something similar.

I have a roll of Bed It Tape from Maine Sail. Is that appropriate or should I use 4200? Something else?

That stuff would be a very good choice. Can you arrange it so that there is not a gap that could let water under the winch? It's flexible enough that I think you could overlap to get a seal.
