What adhesive do I need to attach a hydrosphere to my hull?

Meant to amuse.... unless you have a super yacht...

Kind of like a more sophisticated, underwater version of Willy Wonka’s glass elevator, the ingenious structure deploys from the bottom of the vessel in minutes. It can seat up to seven guests, who can each soak in the seascape without ever getting their hair wet.

The Hydrosphere will offer some of the views you might take in with a submersible. What differentiates it from a standard sub, however, is ease and speed. You won’t have to put in any time preparing a separate vessel for launch, nor arrange a dedicated captain and crew. You can simply walk downstairs, take the “elevator” and get unprecedented underwater views.

Sure this is for the super-rich amongst us but reducing it in size by, say, 95% and having a tiny dome under the boat with a high-res rotatable camera in it could be a cool addition to a boat. Not only for sea life, etc. but as a hedge against reefs/coral/sand banks and replace diving on one’s anchor in cold water. That would be a viable substitute for forward-looking sonar?

Interesting thought . . . . .

I’m thinking of adding one. Will there be any problem attaching it to an inflatable SUP?

Just make sure you retract it before you run aground anywhere. And that the water's deep enough to deploy it. And that the water's clear enough to see far enough to make it interesting.

Gosh, What could possibly go wrong with an installation like this and a 10' diameter hole in your boat?

Ask Cousteau. He had an observation bubble on the bow of his ex minesweeper expedition boat.

Oh, wait, he passed on a long time ago.

This seems to be a real image despite it's fantastical appearance!

Use chewing gum. It sounds like folly, something like that would require more than a bit of engineering and a ship.

Google Scanning Sonar.
Replace soundome(transducer) with camera.

Re: What adhesive do I need to attach a hydrosphere to my hull?

Your making this more difficult than it has to be , all you need to do is go to Your local aquatic store and purchase the supersized gold fish bowl ( make sure it's the toughened glass one )
Get some xyz92 adhesive ,attach bowl to your bull , cut a hole in your bull so that you can access the view :-)

Job done ,simples ;-)

Definitively interesting. But why not put the camera in the water and make just it waterproof? And have it hydraulically deploy through a sea chest the way scanning sonar does? Somewhere, this must have been tried with less than satisfactory results. I do have an underwater camera on my stern, but rarely is the water quality good enough to warrant its use. Perhaps other areas are better.
