But over larger areas where greater strength is needed, better to stick with epoxy right?

And polyester requires really warmer ambient temps?

Eons ago I worked for Reichold Chemical as a QC chemist. As it was many years ago I do not remember all our clients but we were the single source for resins on at least the USA west coast. As a point of reference, this was during a time when glas boat production was in its hay day, notably centered in Southern California.

So, to answer the question if this or that brand name comes from the same source, the answer is yes, it is very likely.
