Waxing non-skid?

I have an old boat, 1978 Columbia. The deck has sanded gelcoat on the deck for non-skid. That offers a challenge when we're trying to get it back into shape.

The deck is discolored in several places but if we scrub it out and get it back to white, it will be a dirt magnate unless we can put some sort of protective coating on it. On the non-deck areas we can buff it and wax it to keep the dirt from accumulating. But what do you do for non-skid?

Jim-
There are "non skid" waxes sold for that purpose. Like surf board waxes, that are designed to protect the surface but also give you traction.
Clean the non-skid with a good stiff nylon bristle brush first, then apply the non-skid wax. Once in a while, reapply it, consider using ammonia to remove the old dirty wax as needed.
