Touching up spots bare metal on saildrive

Hello everybody. Is it possible touch up with Interprotect just the spots where the metal is exposed (just to protect the metal until I can pull out the saildrive fairings to sandblast it all the way up to the diaphragm) or would I just be wasting time and money?

I see no reason why that wouldn't work. It's designed to go on Ali and is epoxy so will protect as good as anything.
Not a waste of time

IP2K has worked for my saildrives and I retouch up whenever boat is hauled. Prep as per instructions

Yes. This will work. Clean / degrease the base to make the paint stick well.
