I recently looked at a Tartan 4700. For their
hull to
deck joints Tartan uses an
aluminum plate that is bonded to both the
hull and
deck fiberglass flanges. They then bolt right trough the flanges and the
aluminum plate.
The
boat I looked at had the hull flange in
parts separating away from the aluminum plate (only in areas without a bolt).
Apologies for the poor quality, but you can hopefully see what I mean in the middle of the attached picture.
Is this indicative of a serious issue? Is this common on Tartan hull/deck joints?
