Taking it down to the wood, what to put on next? (Acryllic vs varnish)

I am in the process of doing my brightwork and am using Honey Teak after much research. It was developed by a guy working with Bristol Finish but they split because Tom (of Honey Teak) thought the product needed more UV protection. It has been fairly easy to work with and looks great but ... There is a Hans Christianson in the marina that swears by it. He has a friend in Miami that did his mast in Honey Teak and five years later it still looks great. We will see.
