T & G with Batten ? FRP over Planking ?

I am looking at this unique 35' pilothouse, hull built in 1959... Hull construction Board and Batten. Hull planking 1" x 6" Red Cedar, T & G with batten.

Does anyone know what T & G stands for?

Hull was FRP (fibreglassed) over planking in 1990. I hear that this process is not favourable with the fibreglass eventually pulling away from the wood. Has anyone had a good experience with FRP over planking?

Visual of the pilothouse interior is solid, dry, and no wood rot on interior planks. Outside hull inspection, current owner has had no problems with delamination or blisters. However, everything I have heard about FRP over planking is bad.

Thoughts?

Just putting fiberglass over a wood hull often leads to problems in the long run.
Look up "c-flex" and the "Vaitses method" for two more successful ways to renovate an old woodie. I was involved on the sidelines c-flexing a single planked mahogany yawl and was very impressed. You need to develop a love affair with a long board though.
