I recently bought my first sailboat bigger then a
dinghy. We just launched it a week ago and tried to raise the forsail and ran into a problem. The foil seems to be bent at the connection and the swivel gets jammed as soon as it reaches the first connection.
I have tried tightening the aft stay to try and put some more tension on it hoping it would straighten but that didnt seem to make any difference.
Ive also lubed the heck out of the foil track as high as i can reach but still no better results.
I have only tried pulling by hand to raise the sail so far. I thought about putting the line on a
winch and trying to force it past but I dont want to risk damaging the swivel or getting it jammed so bad I cant get it back down.
Any idea's? The yard charges a ton to raise or lower the
mast so I'm hoping there is a solution while everything is still up.
