Suitability of 'Corecell' for Deck Coring?

anyone with experience? I'm starting to think ahead of a deck job that's about a year into my future. I would avoid using balsa again and feel plywood would be unnecessarily heavy.

What about Corecell?

I love our balsa and it's the easiest core for retrofit DIY. When you DIY you can avoid any future problems by creating solid glass areas where hardware attaches.

I've heard to many horror stories about foam getting hot etc. The only alternative to balsa that I would consider is that stuff that looks like bee-nests (ha ha, I have no clue about the English name for that ;-)

I believe most manufacturers call it honeycomb panel, with a trademarked name in front of it, like Ayrlite Honeycomb Panels or a more generic name based on the material from which it's made, like Aluminum Honeycomb Panels or Nomex Honeycomb Panels or Kevlar Honeycomb Panels.

HI I build surfboards and refit boats. Using corcell or any kind of foam core is way better than wood. The reason some have delaminated is bc they used to light of a density. put a 1 pound eps board in a hot car and it will delam put a 3 pound and it wont. If you use Balsa use end grain only, so if water gets through it won't spread as bad.
