Strong cockpit locker latch

Can anyone recommend a load tested latch, strong enough to secure cockpit locker lids when the $h!t hits the fan..

I’ll be surprised if you find one. The certification process would be a destructive test and add immensely to the cost of hardware with a small market to share the expense.

Spartan Marine had some nice cast bronze latches with a stainless steel spring. They might be what your after.

Look at aviation latch hardware. Most are very high quality plastics. The strongest storage luggage makers latches all plastic. If your really concerned add a safety cable with a quick release. Lee Valley Hardware may have the latch you want. Worth a look also

I'd just use two quality stamped, wrought, stainless steel hasps spaced apart on each lid. Not cast.
Put an eye snap in each one when the storm comes.
