SS Wire Rope (316) 7/19 Lifelines 4.8mm

I'm about to install the stanchions and lifelines. Are there any requirements in regard to lifelines as far as (say) the US Coast Guard is concerned? Is there a "standard"?

If your stanchion bases are like mine (CS27) you can use anchor chain for all the good it will do you.

Mine are like these but they are about 33 inches high. (The f/g wedge is to keep the stanchion vertical)
