Small Craft Surveyor

Now that I am retired, I'm giving some thought to becoming a small craft surveyor. I have restored a 27' and 30' sailboat dealing with everything from osmosis blisters to engine repairs both gas and diesel and everything in between. I'm not saying I know everything, not by a long shot but I do have a basis understanding to grow from. If any of you are surveyors could you give me some advice as to further training and what to look out for. I'd also appreciate hearing from those who have used surveyors and what your experiences have been both bad and good
