Silicon Bronze 1 1/2" Dia Solid Rod 81" Long

Needed for new rudder post. Most places I have found do not sell it longer then 72" at 1 1/2" Diameter. Anyone know of a dealer or store that does? Also was wondering what the difference is between aluminum bronze and silicon bronze besides the price? Very much appreciate any help.

Almost any local machine shop can fix ya up real easy!! no matter how long ya need or what material ya need ! Monel, bronze, stainless ect !! Most shafts of this type either come from the boat bilders or are made in shops all over the place !! Just my 2 cents

Re: Silicon Bronze 1 1/2" Dia Solid Rod 81" Long

Thanks all! 655 bronze seems like what I am looking for and "silicon" was all I was searching. Here are some pics of our problem. Notice the key way offset looking down at top of rudder, then and bend in rudder with spits in the wood at the bottom. Seems this rudder took a very hard hit on the starboard side at some time. If I am thinking correct also explaining the extreme weather helm we experiance on starboard tack.
