Shipwright scam posted on CL
Just read of this on craigslist. No first hand knowledge of the activity, but thought I'd post it up in case anyone on the CF forum is having work done by this individual.
Including entire cl post and not just the link referenced in the cl listing.
Beware of SHIPWRIGHT Scam - $1 (Everett)
Please Read and Beware, you will get burned: Suspected lives at or operates out of John Wayne Marina, Sequim, WA.
Beware of Bruce George Alexander, age 58, supposedly from Sequim, WA. He skillfully sells himself as a shipwright and ex boatyard owner and operator from Northern California. He is very smooth, represents as a skilled craftsman demanding money upfront, falsely stating his abilities and the work he will do only to leave you holding the bag with little done correctly and a very damaged boat.
I unfortunately have firsthand experience now with a $28,880.97 Judgment Lien against Mr. Alexander whom has no known address or property of record and from the words of the investigator in writing to the judge, “Mr. Alexander is doing everything in his power to operate under the radar with no traceability.”
Case # 18CV41214 In the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for the county of Columbia. Larcenous activities performed online and at the St. Helens Marina, where my 43’ Sailboat is moored.
Please feel free to contact me if you wish any further info or know the property ware bouts or residence of Mr. Alexander? My hopes are to get some restitution and/or keep any other trusting boat owners from such activities.

Re: Shipwright scam posted on CL
This individual is known to local police to be involved in multiple kinds of boat-related fraud, which could range from insurance schemes to attempted theft, and is associated with telemarketing frauds targeting the elderly in the US and Canada.
In the boat world, he poses as a shipwright. Be very careful.

Re: Shipwright scam posted on CL
I met this guy on Saturday to look at a Mercator 30 he was offering for sale at Pleasant Harbor in Brinnon. The boat appeared abandoned and his whole demeanor was smarmy at best.
A little searching confirmed my impression...

If anyone has further information regarding the original CL post, or any other victims of Bruce Alexander, please message me. I’m trying to locate the victim from the above court case and anyone else with dealings/experiences with Bruce Alexander. Thanks!

He’s now at Pleasant Harbor Marina, still representing himself as a shipright and as a boat dealer.

Hello....I found this forum and subsequent thread too late. I just paid him $125 for help with my boat.
It is the cost of a gallon of epoxy. Shame on me I guess but I still need assistance with my boat. Do you have any suggestions?
Hope all is well.
