Servicing old lewmar 30 without clips nor allen keys

Gday all.

Ive got several lewmar winches ranging from 30 ST TO 46 ST that need servicing. All but the 30 are self explanatory with allen keys holding caps on etc. However...the 30 does not have any circlips or screws that would allow dismantling.

All help is greatly appreciated. Ive attached a photo for clarity.

Cheers
Joe

Thanks for the link. Ive been there before and it is different to my winch in that mine is a single speed and the top is one piece. Its around mid 80s vintage.

The whole top plate unscrews. Use a soft headed mallet (or a hammer and block of wood) to tap the lift finger to loosen it, in a counter-clockwise position looking down from the top.

If you're going to clean it anyway and it's been while since it was last apart, giving it a few shots of PB blaster a day or two before disassembly wouldn't hurt.
