Seat Storage Covers

On my C30, the covers under the settee seat
cushions are disintegrating. They are probably
original and made out of a kind of pressboard
with a paper/cardboard layer. They seem to
have absorbed moisture and are mildewed.

I have found a product to make replacements
from here: Stinger Honeycomb Board

Problem is I can't find a way to get a 4'x8'
sheet to me at any reasonable cost. I've
spoken to Coroplast and they are friendly
but can't find a distributor in the Seattle/
Tacoma area from whom I could pick up
the product. One problem being they won't
sell to non-businesses.

Any ideas?

Re: Seat Storage Covers

Sure it is.

Why not make new ones out of plywood of the appropriate thickness? You'd want to seal it first with epoxy. You might want, also, to glue some 1/8" closed foam to the underneath of the foam of the cushions, that will help a lot with the condensation.

For stuff like that, I use celtec. It is a pvc and never rots. You can buy it from Fiberglasssupplydepot.com and they will cut the 4x8 sheet down in to sections that are suitable for your fabrication and shipping. There are different grades of this stuff so rely on supplier to send you the right PVC. The cheap stuff will snap like a twig

Brankin:

Thanks for the suggestion. I couldn't find
that product on that site, but I found it
at other sites.

It looks like something I could use.
