Seacock maintenance?

Never really had a problem with my seacocks before. Moved marinas about 6 months ago, from Salt water to fresh water. And my seacocks are corroding. Suggestions on how to stop it and how to correct it??

Re: Seacock maintenance?

Bronze turns green around salt water. Get used to it. No "correcting" needed.

your install looks good, and there is nothing to worry about.

Bronze is green unless you constantly keep the surface from oxidizing. This is normal

Looks like a natural bronze patina. All you need to do is exercise the seacocks weekly, (not weakly ) to get the best out of them.

Looks like an Apollo ball valve...not a flanged seacock. Marine how to has some nice videos on the subject. The green color is not an issue as explained above.
All stainless clamps are not equal in strength. I never use slotted.
Please post more photos and info on exactly where all these openings to the sea are located and where the pipes go to.
You can get a free survey here which is sometimes better than what people pay for...just post and ask how to improve things.
Happy trails to you.

Re: Seacock maintenance?

This reply shows my polished and painted seacocks, that still have a glossy, plastic appearance after over a decade of salt water usage.

Yes, green bronze is fine.
